D.O. Ribera del Duero
Cuesta de las Liebres 2018
- Origin & Appellation
From the prestigious D.O. Ribera del Duero, Cuesta de las Liebres 2018 is born on the symbolic slopes of Pago de Carraovejas in Peñafiel (Valladolid). This unique plot, located on marl soils with gypsum and saline outcrops, gives rise to one of Spain’s most prestigious and anticipated wines. - Grape Varieties
Made exclusively from 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino), an indigenous variety of the region, from bush-trained vines. These vines are grown under extreme conditions, boosting slow and concentrated blossoming that enriches varietal authenticity. - Winemaking & Ageing
The harvest is done manually with double selection—first in the vineyard and then at the winery. Grapes are transported in small crates to preserve integrity. Fermentation is carried out by gravity in wooden vats using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 24 months in new, extra-fine grain French oak barrels, achieving structure, depth, and classiness. - Producer Profile
Founded in 1987, Pago de Carraovejas is one of the most iconic wineries in Ribera del Duero. Its philosophy combines tradition and innovation, with an obsession for quality, respect for the vineyard, and precise vinification. It is part of Alma Carraovejas, a group of singular wine projects united by a common identity: superiority. - Handcrafted Details
Cuesta de las Liebres is produced only in exceptional vintages. Each bottle results from meticulous precision viticulture, minimal intervention in the winery, and prolonged ageing. This limited edition wine expresses the purest essence of Tempranillo and the Duero Valley terroir.
