About the Winery

Grand Old Parr was born in London in 1909, created by brothers Santiago and Samuel Greenlees, renowned whisky merchants and distillers. The inspiration for its name was Thomas “Old” Parr, an English peasant who, according to legend, lived 152 years between the 15th and 16th centuries. His figure symbolized longevity, perseverance, and quality, values the brand sought to convey in every bottle.

Since its inception, Old Parr has been a harmonized whisky made with a careful selection of more than 40 malts and grain whiskeys, highlighting the malt from Cragganmore, a distillery founded in 1869 next to the River Spey, and Glendullan, both in the Speyside region. This area is famous for producing some of Scotland's smoothest and most elegant single malts.

In 1997, following several mergers and acquisitions, the brand became part of the Diageo Group, the world leader in spirits. Although Old Parr isn't as popular in Europe, it's a true icon in Latin America, especially in Colombia, where it's associated with celebrations and special occasions.

Today, production remains linked to the heart of Speyside, respecting the traditional oak barrel aging method and maintaining the smooth, elegant, and slightly smoky character that has made it an international classic.
