About the Winery

Macán was born from the alliance between Tempos Vega Sicilia and the Rothschild family (Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite), two of the most prestigious names in the wine world. The project is located in Samaniego, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, one of the regions most renowned for the quality of its Tempranillo.

The winery represents the union of Rioja tradition and international technical excellence, with the goal of creating wines of great precision, elegance, and aging potential.

With carefully selected vineyards in Rioja Alavesa and a winery designed with the latest technology, Macán has established itself as a contemporary benchmark in Rioja, displaying a modern identity that is deeply connected to the terroir.

The Macán Clásico is the most accessible and fresh expression of this project, while its older brother, Macán, reflects greater structure and complexity. Both are a tribute to the Rioja soil and the expertise of two historic winemaking families.

Bright cherry red color with ruby reflections and a medium-high depth of color. Clean, lively, and intensely chromatic, it announces freshness and youth.

Nose
Elegant and expressive from the first moment. Aromas of fresh red fruit (cherry, raspberry) stand out, combined with notes of ripe black fruit (blackberry, plum), all framed by delicate hints of violets, sweet spices, and a subtle touch of fine oak.

Palate
The palate is harmonious, fresh, and accessible, with polished tannins and balanced acidity that provides liveliness. The mid-palate is silky, with a marked fruity center and a persistent finish in which mineral and balsamic notes reappear.
