About the Winery

Álvaro Palacios is one of the most influential names in Spanish wine and a key figure in the Priorat revolution. Born into a family of winegrowers in La Rioja, his vision led him to settle in Gratallops in the 1980s, when few believed in the area's potential. Since then, he has made Priorat a world leader in wines with a unique identity.

The project combines tradition and modernity: the restoration of ancient Garnacha and Cariñena vines, environmentally friendly cultivation, and precise winemaking that expresses the uniqueness of Llicorella, the region's signature slate.

Les Terrasses was born with the idea of bringing the essence of Priorat to the world in an elegant, accessible, and authentic wine, made from vineyards on hillsides and terraces with different orientations and altitudes.

Today, the Álvaro Palacios winery is a symbol of excellence, terroir, and international prestige, recognized by critics and wine lovers as one of Spain's great wineries.

Appearance
Intense cherry red color with violet reflections. Bright and clean, with a medium-high depth that announces concentration and youth.

Nose
Deep and expressive aromas of ripe red fruit (cherries, raspberries) along with notes of black plum and blackberry. Balsamic notes, sweet spices (cinnamon, clove), and a mineral background characteristic of Priorat Llicorella are intertwined. The wood provides fine nuances of cocoa, tobacco, and well-integrated smoke.

Palate
Broad and enveloping entry, with ripe, silky tannins. The wine displays a perfect balance between the freshness of the Garnacha and the structure of the Carignan. Flavors of red and black fruit, licorice, spices, and a long, mineral aftertaste stand out. The finish is persistent, elegant, and vibrant.
