About the Winery

The Lagavulin Distillery, located on the wild south coast of the Isle of Islay, Scotland, is one of the most legendary whisky distilleries in the world. Founded in 1816, it has earned a cult following among single malt lovers thanks to its unmistakable smoky and deeply complex style.

Lagavulin's location, facing the Atlantic, exposes its casks to intense sea winds and salt mist, imbuing every drop of whisky it produces with a unique character. The use of local peat to dry the malt, along with slow distillation and extended maturation in oak barrels (many ex-sherry), results in an intense, silky distillate with a unique personality.

Lagavulin is an essential part of Islay's history, and its 16-year-old is considered an absolute benchmark, recognized by critics and aficionados as one of the finest Scotch whiskies in the world.
