About the Winery

La Planella is one of the emblematic labels of Celler Joan d’Anguera, a family winery located in Darmos, in the heart of the Montsant D.O. Founded in the mid-20th century, the winery has been passed down from generation to generation, maintaining a firm commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture, respecting the natural expression of its soils and vineyards to the fullest.

The La Planella estate, which gives the wine its name, consists of old Carignan and Garnacha vines planted in clay and limestone soils, at altitudes that favor freshness and aromatic concentration. Joan d’Anguera is recognized for its elegant and balanced style, which combines the rich fruitiness of the Montsant region with vibrant freshness and refined tannins.

Its philosophy focuses on producing minimally modified wines, fermented with native yeasts and aged in used barrels to preserve the authentic character of the grape and the terroir. This way of working has consolidated the winery as a benchmark of quality and authenticity within the appellation.
