DO Montsant
La Florens, Josep Grau
- Origin & D.O.
Spain – D.O. Montsant (Capçanes), a region with limestone-rich soils that bring minerality and freshness to pure Garnacha.
- Grape variety or ingredients
100% Garnacha (Grenache), from old-vine parcels (75 to 100 years), selected for concentration and varietal expression.
- Winemaking & ageing
Hand-harvested. Spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks with native yeasts, followed by ageing in large foudres (2,500 L) for several months—minimal intervention—to preserve the authenticity of the terroir.
- Producer or distillery profile
Josep Grau Viticultor left his former life behind to restore dignity and authenticity to Montsant’s vineyards. His mission is to craft wines that tell the story of the land—and the love behind it. “La Florens” is a heartfelt tribute to his mother.
- Special details
Its name is inspired by his mother Florentina—and the goldfinches she loved.
