DO Montsant
La Florens, Josep Grau
- Origin & D.O. Spain – D.O. Montsant (Capçanes), a territory with limestone soils that provide minerality and freshness to the purest Garnacha.
- Grape Variety or Ingredients 100% Garnacha from century-old vines (75 to 100 years), selected for their concentration and varietal expression.
- Winemaking & Aging Hand-harvested, spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks with native yeasts, and aging in 2,500 L foudres for several months — with minimal intervention — to preserve the authenticity of the terroir.
- Producer Profile Josep Grau Viticultor, who left his previous life to restore dignity and authenticity to the Montsant vineyard. His project is to create wines that tell the story of the land and his personal devotion. ‘La Florens’ is a heartfelt tribute to his mother.
- Special Details: The name is inspired by his mother Florentina and by the goldfinches she loved.
