About the Winery

Jean Leon wasn't just a visionary; he was a pioneer. He founded his winery in the heart of the Penedès region in 1963 with a clear goal: to produce wines that bore his name and reflected his nonconformist and perfectionist spirit. His story—from his roots in Santander to his rise to fame in Hollywood as a restaurateur to the stars—is steeped in authenticity, courage, and character.

He chose to plant international varieties in a soil that was then dominated by native vines, introducing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot to Spain for the first time. Today, the Jean Leon winery is a benchmark of grace, innovation, and respect for the terroir, producing single-vineyard wines with unique personalities and organic certification.

The Vinya Gigi estate, dedicated to his daughter, is one of his most prized treasures: a unique plot that gives life to this limited-production Chardonnay, fermented in barrels and aged on lees, which expresses the essence of the vineyard and the philosophy of its creator.

Appearance
Bright golden yellow color with greenish reflections. Clean, with dense tears that anticipate volume and structure.

Nose
High aromatic intensity with an initial impression of ripe white fruit (pear, apple, melon), followed by citrus notes, fresh butter, delicate toasted notes, vanilla, and nuts. Mineral and floral notes (acacia, jasmine), typical of high-altitude vineyards, are also appreciated.

Palate
Broad, enveloping entry with a good balance between volume and acidity. Silky palate, with excellent structure. Long, elegant, and persistent finish, where fruity notes and aging notes (fine lees and French oak) reappear. A gastronomic white, with the potential to evolve in the bottle.
