- Origin & Appellation
Gran Enemigo Gualtallary 2019 hails from the Uco Valley in Mendoza (Argentina), specifically from the Gualtallary area at over 1,400 meters above sea level. It belongs to the Gualtallary Geographical Indication (GI), one of the country’s most prestigious terroirs known for its calcareous soils and extreme climate. - Grape Varieties
Cabernet Franc (85%) and Malbec (15%) — a blend that defines the identity of the Enemigo project and its pursuit of elegance, freshness, and structure. - Winemaking & Aging
Fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak foudres. Aged for 15 months in used barrels and foudres, following a classic Bordeaux style. Bottled unfiltered and unfined to preserve verismo. - Producer Profile
El Enemigo is the joint venture of Alejandro Vigil (chief winemaker at Catena Zapata) and Adrianna Catena. A winery that defies convention, inspired by literature and history, crafting wines that reflect character, philosophy, and terroir.
