About the Winery

El Enemigo winery, located in Mendoza, Argentina, is the personal project of renowned winemaker Alejandro Vigil (director of oenology at Catena Zapata) and Adrianna Catena, a historian and heiress to one of the country's most iconic winemaking families. Together, they founded El Enemigo to reinterpret classic Argentine wines with an intellectual, emotional, and technical approach, combining history, tradition, and a constant search for identity.

Gran Enemigo Gualtallary is born in one of Mendoza's most extreme terroirs, at over 1,400 meters above sea level, where calcareous soils and low temperatures give rise to wines with a firm structure, great tension, vibrant acidity, and extraordinary aging potential.

El Enemigo wines are handcrafted, aged in oak foudres, and follow a philosophy that looks to the Old World with a profoundly Argentine expression. Gran Enemigo, in particular, is inspired by the great wines of the Bordeaux Médoc, reinterpreted from the altitude and exceptional character of the Andes.
