About the Winery

Glenfarclas is one of Scotland's most iconic distilleries, founded in 1836 in the Speyside region at the foot of Mount Ben Rinnes. Its name means "valley of the green meadows" in Gaelic. Since 1865, the distillery has been owned by the Grant family, who have kept the tradition alive for six generations.

What sets Glenfarclas apart is its traditional distillation method in flame-fired stills, its exclusive use of high-quality Oloroso sherry casks, and its commitment to family independence, with no corporations behind it.

Furthermore, Glenfarclas pioneered the launch of a Cask Strength distillery in 1964 and opened the first distillery visitor center in Scotland. Production is carried out in small batches, respecting Scottish craftsmanship, and aging in more than 30 warehouses housing some 60,000 barrels.
