About the Winery

Uncovered in Peñafiel (Valladolid), in the crux of the Ribera del Duero region, Bodega Pago de Carraovejas is renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation. Founded in 1987, its vineyards extend along steep hillsides at altitudes of up to 900 meters, lending freshness and complexity to its wines.

It mostly grows Tempranillo (Tinto Fino), along with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, using sustainable practices and manual harvesting. Fermentation takes place in 15,000-liter French oak vats, while aging takes place in new French oak barrels, producing elegant and balanced wines. With a philosophy centered on the authenticity of the terroir, Pago de Carraovejas has established itself as a benchmark in Spanish viticulture.

What flavor awaits me?

Appearance:
Intense purple-red color, with violet edges that reminisce its youth and concentration.

Nose:
Complex and intense aromas, vanquished by ripe red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, accompanied by subtle spicy notes and delicate milky nuances. Toasted notes and hints of fine wood from its aging provide depth and elegance.

Palate:
Powerful and structured, with a full and silky entry. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, providing body without detracting from the elegance. Its balanced acidity enhances the freshness, while the finish is long and persistent, leaving hints of ripe fruit, spices, and light oak nuances.
