DO Montilla-Moriles
Don PX 2003 Sweet Wine
- Origin and D.O.
This wine is harbored in the prestigious D.O. Montilla-Moriles, in the heart of Andalusia — a land where sun and ceremony unite to create some of the world's most age-worthy and complex wines. The region is especially known for its warm climate and chalky “albariza” soils, ideal for growing the Pedro Ximénez grape. - Grape Variety
Crafted exclusively from 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes, a native variety known for its high natural sugar concentration. The grapes undergo a meticulous sun-drying (“asoleo”) process to intensify their aromas and flavors before vinification. - Winemaking and Aging
After rigorous selection, the grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must is aged oxidatively for over 20 years in American oak casks. This extended process grants the wine fantastic complexity, density, and fragrant persistence — all while retaining balance and freshness. - Producer Profile
Bodegas Toro Albalá is a century-old estate based in Aguilar de la Frontera (Córdoba). Founded in 1922 by José María Toro Albalá, it is eminent for its devotion to rule and oenological excellence. Under the guidance of current director and winemaker Antonio Sánchez, the winery has achieved global acclaim — including a perfect 100 Parker points for their Don PX Convento Selección 1946. - Unique Details
Limited production and artisanal craftsmanship. Don PX 2003 is a wine with the soul of a relic: its longevity is almost eternal, and it can be conserved indefinitely even after opening. Its elegant case and display make it a true collector’s piece.
