From the prestigious Ribera del Duero appellation, this wine is born in the Calogía area in Roa (Burgos), a region with an outer continental climate that glorifies balanced grape ripening.
Grape variety
Made exclusively from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), a noble variety that expresses the character of its terroir with intensity.
Winemaking and ageing
Grapes from 65-year-old vineyards are hand-harvested with strict selection. The wine is aged for 14 months in top-quality French oak barrels, achieving perfect integration between fruit and wood.
Producer profile
A personal project by the renowned winemaker José Manuel Pérez Ovejas, following his career at the historic Bodega Hermanos Pérez Pascuas. Dominio de Calogía represents his most intimate and perfectionist vision of wine.
Limited production
Limited to 25,923 bottles (75 cl) and 1,267 magnums. Each bottle reflects the artisanal character and the pursuit of excellence that defines this project.

About the Winery

Dominio de Calogía was born as the most personal and ambitious project of renowned winemaker José Manuel Pérez Ovejas, a key figure in the recent history of the Ribera del Duero region. After decades of leading Bodegas Hermanos Pérez Pascuas and advising large wine groups, he decided to embark on this journey of his own from his enclave in Roa (Burgos), surrounded by old vineyards planted in the “Calogía” area. With a philosophy inspired by the French concept of “Domaine,” the winery is committed to limited production, total control from the vineyard to the bottle, and absolute respect for the expression of the terroir. Dominio de Calogía wines combine precision, elegance, and character, reflecting the deep soul of Tinta Fina and the rigor of the most demanding viticulture.

Appearance:
Intense purple-red color with rim of the same hue. Deep and brilliant, it anticipates the richness of its contents.

Nose:
Expressive and complex aromas where notes of ripe black fruit, creamy oak, sweet spices, cocoa, and fine toasted notes blend together. The bouquet evolves with hints of chocolate, licorice, dried herbs, and balsamic touches.

Palate:
Powerful, flavorful, and velvety on the palate. The tannins are ripe and enveloping, with a long, structured finish. The balance between fruit and aging is impeccable, offering an elegant wine with excellent tension and aging potential. A wine designed to be enjoyed now or collected.
