Origin & Appellation
A red wine from the D.O.Ca. Rioja, yielded by CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España), one of the most iconic and award-winning wineries in Rioja.
Grape Varieties
A blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, and 5% Mazuelo, sourced from selected vineyards in Rioja Alta, including Remedio, Encinas, Barbarroja, and Antoñana.
Winemaking & Ageing
Manual harvest in boxes with double grape selection. Alcoholic fermentation in wooden vats with native yeasts and malolactic fermentation in concrete tanks. Aged for 24 months in new and second-use French (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels, followed by 36 months of bottle aging in the winery’s centennial cellars.
Producer Profile
Founded in 1879 in Haro, CVNE has been a pioneer in the development of Rioja wines. Its Imperial winery represents classic elegance and has received global recognition, including the title of "Best Wine in the World" by Wine Spectator.
Production Details
Only produced in exceptional vintages. Vineyards located at altitudes between 550 and 650 meters, on clay-limestone soils, bush-trained, non-irrigated, and of limited production.

Appearance:
Intense, bright garnet color with a deep robe and ruby highlights at the rim, denoting its evolution and elegance.

Nose:
Complex and sophisticated aroma, with notes of licorice and forest fruits, accompanied by spicy nuances such as clove, cigar leaf, and dark chocolate, the result of its aging in oak. Subtle hints of roasted coffee, caramel, and light balsamic notes are perceived, all in perfect balance.

Palate:
Fine and elegant attack, with a deep and structured mid-palate. The texture is silky, with gentle tannins that envelop the palate. The balanced acidity brings freshness and liveliness, prolonging the finish, which is long, complex, and with an aftertaste where notes of ripe fruit, spices, and a touch of fine wood return.
