  • Origin and D.O.
Sourced from the prestigious Ribera del Duero appellation, Corimbo I 2016 is made exclusively from grapes grown in small plots found in La Horra, Roa, and nearby villages in Burgos. This region is recognized for its extreme environment and poor soils, which promote slow, potent grape ripening. These distinctive conditions give the wine a singular identity marked by intensity, structure, and prime freshness.
  • Grape Variety
100% Tinta del País (Tempranillo), the iconic mixture of Ribera del Duero, grown under endorsed organic viticulture. Vines are 25–30 years old, bush-trained, and unregulated, letting each plant express the purest character of the terroir. No chemical treatments and sustainable practices reinforce a natural, fruit-driven profile with full regard for the environment.
  • Vinification and Aging
Manual harvest with sorting table selection ensures only the best grapes are used. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks respects the natural rhythm of the must. Malolactic fermentation occurs in French oak vats, sweetening complexity, and structure. Aged for 14 months in oak barrels (80% French and 20% American), allowing refinement without overshadowing the fruit. Naturally stabilized and fined with egg white, a traditional procedure that preserves finesse.
  • Producer Profile
Corimbo I is the flagship project of Bodegas La Horra, the Ribera branch of the renowned Bodegas Roda in Rioja. Founded to bring Roda’s excellence to Ribera del Duero, La Horra blends technical expertise with environmental responsibility to craft wines that are honest, precise, and elegant. Vineyard identity and sustainability are the core pillars of the winery’s philosophy.
  • Distinctive Features
The 2016 vintage stands out for its elegance, freshness, and extraordinary balance — the result of a complex growing season that brought aromatic richness and optimal ripeness to the grapes. With an intense yet refined profile, Corimbo I 2016 delivers multiple layers of aroma and flavor, from black and red fruit to aromatic herbs, spices, and earthy nuances. One of the finest expressions of organically grown Tinta del País, perfect for enjoying now or cellaring long term.

What flavor awaits me?

Appearance:
Medium-high depth, bright, and deep cherry red color with a bright red rim that denotes youth and elegance.

Nose:
Great aromatic intensity with overlapping layers of black and red fruit—plums, blackberries, and cherries—on a mineral background reminiscent of wet earth. Notes of aromatic herbs, fine spices, and a touch of fresh pistachio complete a complex and refined profile. The oak is perfectly integrated, almost imperceptible.

Palate:
Voluminous, broad, and balanced attack. Polished, fine-grained tannins caress the palate. Red fruits dominate the palate, providing freshness and fluidity. The finish is long and persistent, with a harmonious fruity and spicy note. A well-rounded vintage, ready to enjoy today, but with aging potential.
