About the Winery

The Mas Alta winery, founded in 1999 by Belgian couple Michel and Christine Vanhoutte in collaboration with renowned French winemaker Michel Tardieu, is located in La Vilella Alta, in the heart of Priorat. Its philosophy is based on combining the tradition of heroic cultivation with a modern vision of oenological precision.

The vineyards are located between 450 and 650 meters above sea level, planted on llicorella (slate) soils, a unique terroir that gives its wines mineral intensity, freshness, and depth. Cirerets is the fruit of this extreme and privileged environment, a blend of Grenache and Carignan from old vines that purely expresses the soul of Priorat.

Meticulous work in the vineyards, low production per hectare, and an 18-month aging process in French Allier oak barrels guarantee wines with soul, elegance, and great aging capacity. Mas Alta is a solid reference on the international scene, with wines that stand out for their authenticity and distinction.

Intense cherry red color with violet reflections that disclose its youth and concentration.

Explosion of aromas of ripe black fruits (blackberries, plums, cherries), intertwined with floral and mineral notes (wet slate), subtle spicy touches, and light toasted nuances from the aging process.
