Belondrade y Lurton 2022 is the flagship wine of the estate, made exclusively from organically grown Verdejo grapes cultivated in Quinta San Diego Estate (La Seca, D.O. Rueda). A total of 23 plots are vinified separately to capture the full diversity of the terroir.
Artisanal and precise winemaking
Hand-harvested grapes, spontaneous fermentation in French oak barrels from different coopers and toasting levels, followed by 10 months of aging on fine lees — giving the wine remarkable volume, depth, and longevity.
Final assemblage with Burgundian precision
After aging, the best barrels are carefully selected and blended before bottling. The wine rests for at least 5 months in the bottle, gaining harmony and expression before release.
Complex nose, enveloping palate
Notes of stone fruit, ripe citrus, brioche, dry hay, and subtle mineral touches. On the palate, it is unctuous and structured, with vibrant freshness and a long finish that combines elegance with persistence.
A white for cellaring and gastronomy
Ideal with sophisticated dishes such as noble fish, creamy rice, truffled poultry, refined Thai cuisine, or aged cheeses. Its structure allows graceful evolution over the next 6–8 years.

About the Winery

Belondrade was founded in 1994 by Didier Belondrade, a Frenchman living in Spain who was committed to bringing the Burgundian philosophy of great white wines to the Verdejo variety in the La Seca region of the Rueda D.O. The winery produces its flagship wine, Belondrade y Lurton, from selected plots and ferments and ages them in 300-liter French oak barrels. The estate operates under organic principles (although not always certified) and seeks to express the typical character of the terroir and the longevity of the Verdejo. This premium white wine has been instrumental in raising the quality of Spanish whites internationally.
