About the Winery

Bodegas Abadal, founded in 1983 by Valentí Roqueta in Santa Maria d'Horta d'Avinyó, was born to express the essence of the Pla de Bages land through its wines. With roots that go back more than nine centuries in the family history, the Roqueta farmhouse, Abadal combines customary winemaking wisdom with modern innovations to preserve and promote the winemaking heritage of the region. The winery is located in a unique area where the vineyard coexists with the forest, creating an ideal microclimate that gives a special intensity to the grapes and premium quality to its wines. Today, Abadal is a benchmark in the recovery and promotion of the Picapoll grape, contributing to the identity and differentiation of Pla de Bages wine.
