  • Exceptional origin
Made from 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) sourced from very old vines — aged between 40 and 80 years — located across nine municipalities in the Ribera del Duero, both in Burgos and Valladolid.
  • Handcrafted harvest
Grapes are hand-picked into 15 kg boxes, followed by meticulous bunch-by-bunch selection on the sorting table. A process designed to preserve the integrity of the fruit and ensure the highest quality from the vineyard.
  • Challenging vintage
2023 was marked by a dry winter, harsh frosts, and a hot summer. Limited rainfall and heat waves brought concentration and depth, while a delayed budburst helped avoid spring frost damage.
  • Precise ageing
Aged for 16 months in French and American oak barrels, which provide structure, complexity and age-worthiness without overpowering the wine’s fruit profile.

About the Winery

Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos was founded in 1999 by Mariano García, one of the most recognized winemakers in Spain, and Javier Zaccagnini, former director of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. Together, they undertook a project to exploit the full potential of Tempranillo and the Ribera del Duero terroir. Preventing more than 100 hectares of old vines, some up to 100 years old, in several municipalities of Burgos and Valladolid, Aalto has designated itself as a reference winery that combines tradition, innovation, and decisive respect for quality at every stage of production.

Safe shipping and tracking at all times.

Care information

Store red wines horizontally in a cool, dark place, while white and sparkling wines are best kept in the refrigerator. Avoid sudden changes in temperature.

This is one of those wines that cannot be explained, you feel it. Powerful but precise, with a classiness that speaks softly and leaves its mark.

Pairing

Grilled or oven-roasted red meats, roast or stewed lamb, game dishes, sautéed mushrooms or mushrooms in risotto, aged and mature cheeses, dark chocolates with a high cocoa content.

Service

Serve at 15.0°C

What flavor awaits me?

Appearance
Deep cherry red color with violet reflections, clean and bright. Its density in the glass anticipates a structured and concentrated wine.

Nose
Expressive and complex from the first moment. Aromas of ripe black fruit (blackberry, plum, blueberry) stand out, intertwined with notes of balsamic, licorice, roasted coffee, cocoa, and mineral touches characteristic of the soils of the Ribera del Duero. With oxygenation, nuances of vanilla, clove, and fine wood emerge, perfectly integrated with the fruit.

Palate
Powerful, enveloping, and balanced. The tannins are fine and silky, providing structure without aggressiveness. Intense flavors of candied black fruit, sweet spices, roasted notes, and an elegant, earthy background are perceived. The acidity is perfectly balanced, bringing freshness to its remarkable volume.

Finish
Long, persistent and harmonious, with hints of cocoa, licorice and ripe fruit, which linger elegantly for several seconds.
