Origin and Designation
Cultivated in Mexico, Don Julio Reposado is crafted in Jalisco's prestigious Los Altos region — known for its altitude, temperate climate, and mineral-rich volcanic soils. This terroir is considered the cradle of high-quality blue agave, where each plant is patiently nurtured to reach its peak maturity. The high altitude allows the agave to mature slowly, condensing sugars and delivering a more refined, sweet flavor profile.
Main Ingredient
This tequila is made exclusively with 100% Blue Weber Agave, hand-selected through a meticulous inspection process. Only agave plants with at least eight years of growth are harvested, ensuring a raw material that is rich, robust, and explicit. This devotion results in a pure base that reflects the authentic character of Jalisco’s terroir.
Production and Aging
After a careful double distillation that preserves the most peaceful aromas, the tequila is aged for eight months in American white oak barrels, often previously used for bourbon. This aging imparts soft notes of vanilla, caramel, toasted wood, and sweet spices. The resting time is enough to round the edges of the agave without hiding its character, achieving a superb balance of freshness, intricacy, and grace.

His detailed approach changed industry standards: he reduced the number of agave plants per hectare to allow more nutrients and space, implemented higher-quality barrels, and personally oversaw every stage of production. Today, Tequila Don Julio is globally realized for its excellence, and featured in top bars and private clusters around the world.
